Tanja Groos Biography

An artist, designer and traveller, I have had group art exhibitions in Ontario and New York, and my art is owned in private collections in both the USA and Canada. Collectors include world-famous salsa dancer and choreographer Burju Perez. My art has won awards and has been published.

With more than 15 years of corporate and digital creative design experience, my graphic design work has won places in nation-wide designers’ showcases and has been published. An Entrepreneurial Recognition Award was bestowed upon me by the Government of Canada. My experience has been deepened by leadership in and support of several charities and not-for-profit organizations.

I have spent time in 17 countries and continue to absorb creative inspiration and cultural perspective through travel. Some of my adventures include hang gliding in the German Alps, ceramics classes in Greece, kayaking in the Bahamas, sand-boarding in Chile, caving in Slovenia, camel riding in Morocco, rock climbing in the USA and skydiving in Canada.

My life experiences feed my artistic exploration using oil and acrylic paint, pencil, mixed media and digital tools. I like to explore the merging of human forms with active spaces to communicate psychological states of being, and look at nature in a colourful way.
