Cindy Robinson Biography

I enjoy working with both acrylics and watercolours while trying to capture the vastness and beauty of the world around us. My paintings reflect my love of the outdoors and nature. The play of light and shadow intrigues me as it creates a feeling or mood in the painting which the observer may feel as they observe the painting.

My inspiration in landscape painting is to create a composition that captures sunlight, shade and natural bright colours. I would like the viewer to feel a desire to be in that exact location. For example, at the end of a day , the sunset never fails to bring about a feeling of awe to the viewer which I try to capture with the brightness of the sun and the coming shadows of night.

I have been painting for 20 years and have gained much knowledge both through classes and experiences working with other artists. Evolving as an artist into expanding and trying new approaches to subjects that interest me is my goal. I have exhibited work at the Cotton Factory, McMaster Innovation Center and the Meaford Hall Arts and Culture Centre.
