Christina Drummond Biography

Christina Drummond grew up in London, UK, travelled extensively and came to Canada in 1982.  After settling in Toronto she moved to Fonthill, On about 7 years ago.

She began painting 10 years ago initially in the US and immediately focused on Abstract Art mainly in Acrylics with some mixed media.  Her studies include many workshops and courses with a variety of well known and respected teachers from Canada and abroad.  Success came with memberships of local artist groups ( NOTL Pumphouse Assoc., Grimsby Lakeside Pumphouse Artist Group, Fonthill Art ) and continually  participating in many Exhibits both in Canada and the US.  Christina has exhibited (2018 and 2022) with two local artists in their own Showcase and Sale in Fonthill and recently  (Nov 2022) had a successful solo exhibit at her Studio and home.

Christina enjoys bright, bold colours and well known for showing movement in her paintings which seems to come from a lifelong love of sports activities.  Her work often starts with working in unusual colour combinations and sometimes inspiration comes after splashing different colour palettes on the canvas using a variety of tools and brushes.  She loves these layers to achieve unusual textures and depth.   During Covid restrictions she undertook an intensive on line course to improve her work exploring many different facets of design and colour.  It is a very interactive Pro group with other abstract artists throughout the world which gave large exposure to fresh ideas and techniques.

She feels strongly that everybody has their own reality.  “We see what we want to see, like Life!”
