Claudette Losier Biography

Born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario, she received her Honours BA in Fine Arts in 1989 from Brock University. Claudette has pursued her art career full time since 2005, which includes teaching and modelling work.

Claudette has taught art at various locations since 2005:  Art Gallery of Burlington, RBG in Burlington, and City of Hamilton.  She has been teaching children through the DVSA Art Connect Program through the Hamilton Elementary School Board and offering her Drawing Mark Making workshop to children in June at Gage Park in the Imagine in the Park Event!  She has also been invited to give Artist Talks about her work and one day workshops in Toronto, Hamilton and Burlington.

A major focus of Claudette's current work is a series titled Sense of Place and this work has been acquired by public institutions and corporate and private collections internationally. Some highlights include: an acquirement of her City Scape painting by the Ontario Government and Hamilton Superior Court House; transfer oil painting CinderPoppy by the City of Toronto; two paintings purchased 2024 for Toronto Resource Library on Yonge Street Toronto; two paintings selected for wall murals in the “Up Your Alley” contest in Hamilton, Ontario; the selection of her painting titled Chasing in the Palermo Biennale in Italy; inclusion in an exhibition titled Artificial Intelligence at the Marzia Frozen Gallery in Berlin; and the LA February 2020 Art Fair. She has also participated in numerous local events such as the Hamilton Super Crawl, Toronto Outdoor Art Fair and the Queen West Art Crawl.
