Kate Wyatt Biography

Kate Wyatt is a Brantford, Ontario artist who works mainly in Felt. She explores the natural world, using it as inspiration for creating both Felted Landscapes and 3D Felted Sculptures. With a focus on sky and water, her art is of places she has personally been. This brings a stronger connection to the subject. Her use of colour and texture bring a playful realism to her works that draws the viewer into the piece. She loves to plein air felt, participating in multiple Plein Air competitions where she has received awards and honourable mentions. She has exhibited in Juried shows and received honourable mention there as well. Before falling in love with felting Mary Kate focused mainly on painting, it is this background which gives her feltings a painterly feeling.
