I have 2 bodies of work - landscapes and abstracts. My landscape artworks are based on a practice of walking, observing plien air sketches and finally loose studio works. My abstract exploration is inspired by our intrinsic relationship with the sea. Exploring our natural world is my focus, both above and below the waterline. I am influenced by where the water meets the land. I like to immerse myself in the outdoor world whereverI am. Sometimes just sitting quietly and observing feeds my ideas. We are connected to nature and I aim to express what I see and feel through loose bold works. Rocks, trees, swamps, rough seas and shorelines are all of interest. I like messy landscapes, marshes, dead trees and where the water meets the land. My work is constantly expanding and changing.
