Michelle Paskin Biography

I am a Canadian artist working from my home studio in Hamilton, Ontario. Half of my childhood was spent in the hills and valleys of Shropshire in England, I have lots of beautiful memories of this place and it is one of the things I miss about living there. Recently we moved to the countryside into an old century Ontario farmhouse, I had been longing to do this for many years. Somehow, being surrounded by nature, farmers fields and my beautiful old house has inspired me to come back to my art.

I attended art college in the UK straight out of school but only painted occasionally over the years. I focus on my surroundings, rural landscapes, nature, local towns and home. I use soft pastels on various papers. My favourite paper is velour, it offers a soft ethereal feel to the paintings, which I love. I feel driven and focused on my art journey to finally “finding my voice”.
