Women's Art Association of Hamilton

An enhanced membership with WAAH allows that member to display up to six samples of their work, a short bio and contact information on their page. It is suggested that members may want to periodically update their gallery page. Here is also what is needed.

Artist's Name

What is your preferred first name and/or last name? For artistic reasons you may want to go by your legal names, or given name. They can be different. For example, if your first name is 'Elizabeth', but you'd much rather be known as 'Lizie', 'Betty', or 'Beth', we'd like you to clarify. What is your preferred surname. Is it two distinct names, or is it hyphenated? Some names can be so adaptable that they are ambiguous. For instance: Jordan Kennedy Surname. Is Kennedy a middle name or part of the surname? Please make it clear.

Artist's Biography

What should be included in an artist's bio? Tell about those who have influenced your artwork. What is your art education or training, and do you have any art-related experience. What is your artistic philosophy, and are there any artistic insights or techniques you use. Finally, give a short description of what you would like to accomplish with your art.

Artist's Statement

This is a short piece written by the artist to accompany a particular painting or group of paintings. Don't dismiss it as insignificant or dashed out in a hurry as it's a vital selling tool, promoting and explaining your work to people looking at your paintings, whether they're potential buyers, exhibition curators, critics, fellow artists, or casual browsers.

Artwork Details

We will show up to three pieces per artists. For each piece that you wish to show, the following information is needed:

  • Name, e.g., "Morning Light"
  • Dimensions (usually unframed), e.g., 10" x 17"
  • Medium, e.g., acrylic
  • Price; and if not for sale NFS or SOLD
